TODO, NEXT, DONE fallacy

Most people I know understand the value of capturing TODOs somewhere, but they seldom understand that simply capturing without clarifying, organizing, reflecting and engaging bring almost as much value as no capturing at all.

I often see some dead code with some // TODO in it, like if someone would care.

I guess that this is because the only system they have is the code editor and it is easy, attractive and timely to simply capturing the TODO in here and forget about it.

This is a fallacy in case the person genuinely wanted the stuff to be done. biais de bonne conscience.
