Priest Fallacy
FleetingWhen people describes others as priests to indicate that they cite things in a not sensible way.
I agree that sometimes people appear to fall into this trap, like the method priest or scrum priest.
To me, calling people sensible is sensible when their goals are made clear and they do not find a way to explain why using the method might help them fulfil those goals.
If on the contrary, they have good reason for using the citation, it is (to me) very appreciated to support ones claims with citations.
I think this is a fallacy when people are described as priest as soon as they come with citations, without taking into account whether or not the citation is sensible according to their goals.
