Intellectually Honest

Fleeting

Try hard making sure your actually believe what you think you believe.

Sometimes, we say we believe X and X => Y. But afterwards we realize that X => Z while we actually believe not(Z). Then, we either have to accept believing Z or find out we cannot believe X or X => Y.

Example:

  • X : I don’t need a system to help me organise my time
  • Y : I don’t need to learn GTD
  • Z : I don’t need a calendar to help me organise my time

Often people tell that X and X => Y. But they also acknowledge that X => Z. Being intellectually honest here means that they should revise the reasons they believe X or X => Y.

It is applying transparency towards oneself.
