I often see people claiming they implemented gtd, showing tooling and systems and code and programs.
But, in my mind, gtd is more than that. It is about a way of thinking and getting habits not polluting the mind with open loops.
gtd indeed needs a trusted system to allow sure a cruise control feeling, but without the method, the system won’t help much.
For instance, performing a weekly review cannot be part of a system. Either you do it or you don’t. People tend to forget doing the weekly review while without it, even if you have a very powerful trusted system, the method suggests it won’t help you much.
