Worth Using Emacs Without Knowing Emacs-Lisp?

Is it worth using emacs without knowing and learning emacs-lisp?

  • is emacs an IDE?,

I believe not. Emacs does not shine with its wonderful UI and I think it is not even a good ihm.

So, using emacs without the whole power of emacs-lisp that allows emacs to become whatever tool you need it to be does not seem to me like a goal one should want to achieve.

On the other hand, there are tools like doom or spacemacs that appears to prove me wrong.
