Trying Live-Build on Some Old Laptop

trying live-build on some old PC

A laptop bought in 2008 and that served for the last 12 years as server.

Recently, its hard drive started failing.

I put it out of the server room and took advantage of the situation to try debian live-build to create a live USB and still use it in my stack.

The process was quite smooth, but I realized that:

  • docker does not support i386 anymore,
  • its screen is failing as well

  • it does not even have a HDMI port, so I would need to buy an adaptor or an old monitor as well,

I finally decided to let it rest in pieces.

This is my setup, with the clk commands to simply run flow (the usb disk id is hardcoded though).
