My Brain Is Not Meant to Remember Stufffleeting
I decided to believe that my brain is not meant to remember stuff and does quite a shitty job at that task.
Therefore, when people ask me to take over the job of someone else that did not have a second brain and was used to keep stuff in their head, I always feel a bit embarrassed saying that I’m ok with that, but I need to rework the tooling or else I will do a shitty job.
Indeed, people eventually make the expectation that you keep stuff in your head and the tooling they provide you is strongly based on that hypothesis. You end up having half baked roadmaps, knowledge distributed in the head of all the participants.
Because the last thing the fish sees is the water around it, they generally don’t even realize the stuff is in their head, making the discussion even more difficult.
