"Code Is Law"

Fleeting

You can see the rules, because the system is made so that the rules are in the code.

Like lettre de l’open source vs l’esprit de l’open source, the fact the code is law give the false impression that the people will invest time to read it.

“law tries to be code”

Interestingly, when reading law text, we can see that they try to be as formal as possible and avoid ambiguities, like we have to do when writing code.

Therefore, I assume that in a sense, law tries to be code.
