code is an instrumental objective

Sometimes, I see people talking about « the code of person X ».

Sometimes, I see people telling that github copilot will get our job, while I guess that automating the code writing is actually a way to let go of the useless part of our job and make us focus on the things that matter.

Sometimes, I see people arguing about design pattern and forgetting to think about whether the pattern fulfils the objective.

I think that a lot of developers consider the code as a sacred thing that is an objective per se.

I don’t share this at all. To me, source code is the tool that leads to reaching the objectives of fulfilling a need.
